SDP is available to individuals with developmental disabilities who receive services from a California Regional Center—including autism, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, and related conditions.
With traditional services, a coordinator selects your providers. With SDP, you control your own budget and choose which services and providers best fit your life.
An FMS manages the financial aspects of your SDP budget—processing payments to vendors and tracking spending. You choose your FMS provider during enrollment.
In many cases, yes. SDP allows you to hire people you know and trust, including family members, as long as they meet requirements and the Regional Center approves them.
